SWAHU, the “Spiritual World Assembly of Humanity”, was initially founded by Anton Tönz in 2001. SWAHU is the answer for many people all around the world as a practical form of spirituality without cultural restrictions and religious prejudices. People worldwide are welcome to celebrate and experience the unity in deep Meditation and start living this inner experience in their outer life.
It is now time to take the worldwide globalisation to the axis of spirituality. It is now time to remove the ethical and religious boundaries and grow in the spirit of inner unity.
SWAHU desires to express the commonness in spiritual thoughts and actions that encourages a sense of unity in our daily life. In the depth of our innermost heart is clarity and a state of mind beyond diversities. This clarity and unity experienced deep within can uplift people and this alone enables them to rise beyond chaos and anxieties. If people are able to grow and think beyond their religious and racial attachments, they will be able to regard all beings with compassion. War and injustice can be curbed which would give rise to a humanistic world culture without boundaries. Only if people find and unlock their inner door to humanity by the key that is imbedded deep within, their humanness will beautifully enter the world. The Vedas is the oldest tradition of human experience and SWAHU wants to make this into a realistic experience, so that it reaches as many people as possible.
Life itself is a celebration of being. Spirituality is not only practical for those who live a life in reclusion but also for those who would like to partake in this celebration of life. It is for those who want to grasp the reason for life and moreover live the state of bliss, which they experience within. This is exactly the reason for the committee to launch SWAHU. A grand “Spiritual World Assembly of Humanity” may still be far away from reality but, as it is said’ Countless drops hollow the stone!’
The SWAHU conducts itself in the Meditation and Retreat Centre ACADEMIA VENEZIA located in the southern alpine region of Switzerland. The program consists of ceremonies, art performances in Indian dance and music, satsangas (lectures about spiritual topics) and meditations.
The Academia Venezia rests in midst of a beautiful valley, surrounded by greeneries and forests and gorgeous mountains. Her Venetian style of architecture is a feast to the eyes. The Academia Venezia has a slightly oriental touch, which suits perfectly to its purpose of being a centre for meditation and spirituality.
